Wolf Garden, labeled as a werewolf movie in the vein of “An American Werewolf in London” meets “Vertigo,” chooses a more restrained path. Special effects take a backseat to the film’s slow-burn psychological thrills. Writer/director Wayne David stars as William, a man grappling with a disastrous countryside vacation with his girlfriend Chantelle. The story jumps between past, present, nightmares, and questions of reality, creating an enigmatic narrative structure. While some viewers may find enjoyment in deciphering the scattered pieces and anticipating the expected ending, I found the film’s unremarkable characters and plodding pace hard to connect with.
