REVIEW: Teddy is hugely ‘Teddyed.’ His name is an idiom around town because he blows everything up without exceptions. His lackluster YouTube videos have caused him to be a fitness influencer, and his fans are reluctant to follow his work. If you believe that Teddy doesn’t make enough time to be with his family, he plans to marry Lori (Jasmine Mathews). This puts him at risk of losing the next hit by the Toronto Man (Woody Harrelson). That’s what I believe happened. As absurd as the next bit may sound, Teddy convinces the FBI that he is an undercover agent capable of completing the mission secretly with Harrelson. It is difficult to follow and swallow the buddy comedy. You will be questioned about your genius-level before you even get halfway through.
“The Man From Toronto” was created to be brainless entertainment, which is fine for a genre like this, but it takes on too many twists and turns, which leads to nowhere, and it is frustratingly lame. These otherwise responsible performers are doing this boring nonsense.
Hart has been a dumb-and-cute hero for too long. On-screen, he is a sloppy version of the character he tries to portray. Harrelson is aware that this movie is not going anywhere and decides to relax and raise his cool for everyone watching. He is charmingly coy with the women.
